Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH presents the new Chairman of the Management Board

Deutsche Edelstahlwerke, a company in the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group, will have a new Chairman of the Management Board in the form of Oliver Bell as of 1 April 2015. Mr Bell will also manage the Sales Department.

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH appointed Mr Oliver Bell to be the new Chairman of the Management Board of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke on 23 March 2015 with effect from 1 April 2015. 

In the four-person Management Board, he will also be responsible for the Sales Department, which covers marketing and production management in addition to sales and stock controlling. Mr Bell (born 1958) has comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the metal industry. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President of Norsk Hydro ASA and, as a member of the Management Board, headed its Rolled Products Division, where he was responsible for sales of around EUR 3 billion. As Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Norsk Hydro Aluminium Deutschland GmbH, he was also responsible for the entire Group’s operations in Germany.

Mr Bell succeeds Dr Martin Löwendick. Together with his colleagues in the Management Board, he will take on the challenge of leading DEW successfully into the future in changing markets that present increased technological demands.

 The Management Board of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH will be composed as follows from 1 April 2015: 

  • Oliver Bell (Chairman of the Management Board, Sales Department)
  • Mathias Rist (Member of the Management Board, Controlling Department)
  • Jürgen Alex (Member of the Management Board, Technology Department)
  • Burkhard Hartmann (Member of the Management Board, Human Resources)
