Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH receives Nadcap Accreditation for Heat Treating
To demonstrate their continued commitment to quality, Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH (DEW) announces that they have been successful in achieving Nadcap accreditation for Heat Treating at their site in Witten including the relevant mechanical and metallographic tests.
“By achieving the Nadcap accreditation for Heat Treating at our site in Witten we are able to demonstrate our capability in accepting technical challenges in order to fulfil the most stringent requirements of our customers and international standards. This is a main part of our strategy and substantiates our expectation being a leading company in manufacturing special steel products now and ever“, explains Jürgen Alex, member of the board of DEW, “because heat treating is a core capability.”
The successful accreditation of the Heat Treating processes in Witten means – combined with the fact that the site in Siegen is holding the Nadcap accreditation in Heat Treating since 2005 - an important extension of the manufacturing possibilities in DEW’s business area of speciality steels. The aim of the Nadcap program is to assess process capability for compliance to industry standards and customer requirements. By achieving Nadcap accreditation, Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH has demonstrated their compliance.
„Being a member of the aerospace industry’s Champions League as a manufacturer of special steel products representing the beginning of the value chain is a fantastic signal. It should be additional motivation for the whole company to meet all the applicable stringent requirements every day in order to satisfy our customers by excellent product and process quality”, completes project manager Jan Lingemann.
“Compliance via Nadcap accreditation is a milestone in demonstrating manufacturing excellence.” said Joe Pinto, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Performance Review Institute. “By obtaining Nadcap in Heat Treating, Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH has proved to the industry that they are committed to quality and aerospace safety.”
